Cookie Policy
What cookies and similar technologies the Areza website uses, why, and how to control them.
This Cookie Policy explains how AI Merge Studio LTD, trading as Areza, uses cookies and similar storage technologies on areza.digital. It complements our Privacy Policy.
We follow the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the EU ePrivacy Directive: non-essential cookies are set only after you give explicit consent through the cookie banner.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. We also use related technologies — localStorage and sessionStorage — which work the same way for our purposes. In this policy, “cookies” means all of these.
Categories we use
We group storage into three categories. You control the optional ones via the “Your privacy choices” button in the footer.
Essential (always on)
These are required for the site to function. They cannot be turned off.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
areza-cookie-consent | localStorage | Stores your cookie consent choices so we don’t show the banner every visit. | 12 months or until you reset |
areza:a11y-prefs | localStorage | Stores your accessibility preferences (reduce motion, larger text, high contrast) so they persist across pages. | Until you change them |
areza-locale | Cookie | Stores your language choice for site localization. | 12 months |
__cf_bm | Cookie (set by Cloudflare) | Bot management and security. Distinguishes humans from automated traffic. | 30 minutes |
cf_clearance | Cookie (set by Cloudflare) | Records that a Cloudflare security challenge was passed. | 30 minutes |
Analytics (off by default — requires consent)
We currently do not run any third-party analytics. The infrastructure is in place via Partytown so that, if we enable analytics in future, scripts will load in a sandboxed worker and only after consent.
If we add an analytics provider (likely a privacy-friendly option such as Plausible, Fathom, or Cloudflare Web Analytics), this policy will be updated and you will be re-prompted for consent before any analytics cookies are set.
Marketing (off — not used)
We do not run advertising, retargeting, or marketing tracking. We do not set marketing cookies. The “marketing” toggle in the privacy dialog exists in case our processing changes; it is currently a no-op.
Third-party cookies
The cookies set directly by our infrastructure provider, Cloudflare, are listed under “Essential” above. They are required for site security and DDoS protection.
If you visit a page that embeds third-party media (e.g. an Unsplash image, an embedded video), that provider may set its own cookies. We do not embed advertising trackers, social-media pixels, or session-replay tools.
How to control cookies
- In the cookie banner — you can Accept all, Reject (non-essential), or open Customize to set categories individually.
- In the footer — the “Your privacy choices” button reopens the same dialog at any time.
- In your browser — you can clear cookies and localStorage directly via your browser’s privacy settings. Note that this will reset your consent choices and we will show the banner again on next visit.
- Browser-level signals — if your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we honour it as a withdrawal of consent for non-essential cookies.
Blocking essential cookies will break parts of the site (security challenges, accessibility preferences not persisting). All other categories can be blocked without affecting site functionality.
Changes
We update this policy when our cookie use changes. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. If we add a new analytics provider or any non-essential cookie, you will be re-prompted for consent.
